ENGINE CONDITION Trend Monitoring

ENGINE CONDITION Trend Monitoring

ECTM

Engine Condition Trend Monitoring (ECTM) is a process in which changes in certain performance parameters of engines are analyzed to identify engine performance deterioration and malfunction of engine components and accessories.

Benefits

Operational:

  • Detect potential failures to avoid/reduce secondary damages
  • Improve fleet management (removal and spare engine planning)

Financial:

  • Reduce maintenance cost thanks to early detection
  • Lower unscheduled downtime cost
  • Optimize on-wing time

MRO:

  • Better estimate shop visit cost
  • Improve customize work scoping
  • Increase knowledge about engine on-wing behavior
  • Optimize shop capacity planning

 Prevent:

  • Major operational events
  • High cost failures
  • Unscheduled removals

How to achieve them:

  • Troubleshoot to identify cause of any significant shift of trend performance
  • Forecast engine removal based on EGT margin levels and LLP
  • Avoid the removal of engine with enough remaining EGT Margin

OURSERVICE

  • Extraction of Engine Parameters such as EGT, EPR, TAT, N1, N2, FF during flights
  • Engine Data Monitoring and Analyzing
  • Trend Calculation
  • EGT Margin Calculation
  • Outside Air Temperature Limit ( OAT limit ) Estimation
  • Engine Life Time Estimation
  • Save History of Parameters to Further Trend Analysis
  • Corrective Actions

When performed properly by qualified & experienced personnel, trend monitoring is capable of detecting faults such as:

  • Hot section deterioration
  • Hot starts
  • Faulty fuel nozzles
  • Dirty or eroded compressors
  • FOD damage
  • Bleed leaks
  • Instrumentation errors
